PSP/PS2에 블루투스를. Bluetooth PSP/PS2 Headset Mod

intro
Bluetooth PSP/PS2 Headset Mod
With this mod I'm able to voice chat wirelessly on PSP games like the SOCOM FTB franchise using my Bluetooth headset. In addition to working with the PSP I can also use the same Bluetooth headset to voice chat wirelessly on any PS2. In case you didn't know if you try to play say SOCOM: Combined Assault (a PS2 game) on the PS3 without this mod you cannot use a Bluetooth headset because the PS2 game is not coded to take advantage of the PS3's Bluetooth functionality, but with this now you can!

step 1Getting Everything Ready
First we are gonna start with the Cardo BTA II Bluetooth Adapter. Cut the plug off the end of the cable, we won't be using it. Strip some of the outer insulation off the end. You should see 3 wires, Red, White, Black.

Red= Speaker+
Black= Ground
White= Mic+

step 2
PS2 USB Box Prep
Next we are gonna work on the PS2 USB Box. Flip the box over and pry the rubber feet off until you've found 2 screws. Unscrew them and the box opens. Take out the circuit board and wire it like the picture shown.

step 3
2.5mm Jack Install And Wire
Solder the wires onto the jack like the pic. Then we are gonna mount the jack inside the box. You will have to trim off the small piece from the lid of the case so that the case can close more when screwed back together. I used some hot glue to hold the jack in place inside the box.

step 4PS2 USB Box Finished
Here's what it should look like.
PS2 USB Box

step 5Wiring The PS2 USB Box 2.5mm Plug
For the plug (2.5mm stereo, 3 conductor) that plugs into the PS2 USB Box you may need a multimeter or continuity tester to identify what wires are what.

step 6
PSP Wiring Section
Here's the origininal 4 conductor plug from a Sony PSP headset. We are gonna combine the Left & Right Speakers because the Cardo BTA II Adapter is mono. This plug needs to be wired to the BT Adapter in this exact same configuration and then plugged into a wired PSP remote cable shown in the main picture of the completed setup or it will not work with the PSP for voice chat.

step 7
Everythings Done! Final Testing
Make sure you insulated all wires so the don't short each other out. Make sure all connections are correctly and securely soldered.

Next lets pair your BT Headset to the Cardo BTA II.

1. Make sure both are fully charged.
2. Put your headset into pairing mode
3. Put the BTA II into pairing mode by first turning it on. Then use a needle or included tool that came with the BTA II to press the SET button in until flashing red and blue. Wait until the BTA II starts to just flash blue every 3 seconds and now it should be paired with your headset. Refer here for more help http://cardowireless.com/included/docs/manuals/BTA_II_QG_English.pdf
4. Plug your BTA II into the PSP's cable remote and fire up a game with voice chat like SOCOM FTB2 to test the speaker and mic.

PS2 (Any Model)

1. Make sure you do not have your BTA II plugged into a PSP
2. Plug the 2.5mm plug into the PS2 USB Box and then plug the USB into your PS2.
3. Again test voice chat with a game like SOCOM.

PS2 Game on PS3

1. Same as above but go to SETTINGS-ACCESSORY SETTINGS-AUDIO DEVICE SETTINGS and make sure you select Logitech USB Headset for Input and Output Device and click OK.
2. Now try SOCOM on your PS3.

***If anyone is interested I may put my unit up for sale. It will include the Cardo BTA II with both connectors (PSP&PS2), and the PS2 USB Box. Contact me on here with an offer.
